Trevor Price was invited 'Printmaker of the year 2011' at Printfest.
Based in Cumbria, it is Britians only art fair dedicated to printmaking. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Printfest, Trevor Price was commissioned to produce a large scale print on the theme of celebration. Working with members of the local community, aged from 3 to 80, numerous plates were made using primarily drypoint techniques.
On returning to London, Trevor Price worked alongside Sanju Mathew and together they proofed all the plates using a variety of printmaking techniques at the printeditioning.com studio. In addition Trevor Price made a variety of etched plates that became the main part of the print. The resulting fun and complex one off piece represented a giant board game with each plate being a square of the game. This print can be seen as a great example of a true collaboration between artist and printer (and of course all those who contributed at the workshops in Cumbria). Print Fest 2011 |
